Then in the evening… Bombed Buildings presents
Goan Dogs
+ Tom Skelly and the Salty Beards + Oedipus The King
Doors at 6 pm.

Goan Dogs are a unique five piece enamored with, but distinct from, Bristol’s rich musical heritage. Drawing from a vast array of influences, the bands cinematic sound is laden with rich harmonies and tales of the macabre. Their atmospheric live shows are renowned to captivate audiences with pulsating rhythms and striking visuals. The group has picked up some glowing press from the likes of The Fly and Louder Than War, as well as airplay on BBC 6 Music and BBC Radio Bristol. They’ve secured support slots with Maps & Atlases, Kyla La Grange and Zun Zun Egui and played large UK festivals, including Green Man, Dot to Dot and Larmer Tree Festival.

Taking the growling, lurching, proto-grunge guitars of Neil Young’s ‘Alabama’ and combining them in exhilarating fashion with the slow builds and punchy dynamics of an early Idlewild, Tom Skelly and the Salty Beards create a dramatic and formidable sound. That’s not to mention the fact that Skelly has an exceptional voice that might just have out-trilled Edith Piaf in her prime.

Oedipus the King’ are an eclectic four piece alternative rock band based in Hull. Oedipus formed in late 2011 through a love of the obscure and making really, really loud noises. Their influences stem from a plethora of places; including the music of Explosions in the Sky and Modest Mouse, to mixed media such as; art and films, which they make use of during live shows with curious samples and visuals. Oedipus mix an array of cinematic and expansive sound-scapes, with a haunting and diverse alt rock sound.
