‘Something’s Changed’

No Comments Uncategorized

“We had a very productive day back on 12th November 2022. We hired a Luton van and drove to Sheffield where we was escorted to a secret remote location high up in the Peak District. There we loaded up with 15 of Pulp’s original flight cases.”

The cases have been converted into a unique structure that is the new Adelphi concert room bar. This is something very special. The customs stickers and livery show how they have travelled around the planet many times on Pulp’s World Tours. Even The Adelphi bar is now a piece of ‘geeky’ music history!! The new bar opened on October 1st, the club’s 40th anniversary.

What does this mean to you? It means we now stock twice as much. ‘We serve all your favourite drinks’! Spirits, craft cans, bottles, ciders, wines, snacks, merch as well as a range of cask ales, draught lagers and much more! The new bar has been completed refitted with a new hygiene safety floor, a glass-washer machine, new coolers, new optics, led lighting and display cabinets including one for the UK Grassroots Music Venue of the Year Award! It’s a Different Class. We hope this will see us to our 50th anniversary!

As always, we have used local suppliers. Special thanks to Dave from Total Flooring, Joynson’s Catering Equipment, The Wood Shop, Sowden & Sowden, Gametime Leisure and Common People like Pete Peterson, Gary Hockney, Siobhan O’Connor and The A Team. Also, thanks to Rose, John & Jacko for underwriting the project. Super special thanks to Pulp and Andy & Chris Dimmack.

*Pulp played at The Adelphi many many times between 1984 and 1993 on their rise to greatness.
