Half Moon Brewery and Turning Point Brew Co.
tap takeover with live music from Mouse’s Ear and Buckfast Tramp – in partnership with Newland Tap

What’s all this about?
Here’s a long story cut short – a little while ago when we were putting cask ale back on at Adelphi, we had a little help from some friends, including Erica from Newland Tap and Tony from Half Moon Brewery. Tony happens to be in a band, Mouse’s Ear, with Cam from Turning Point Brew Co., so we all decided to make use of our resources and we’re hosting an all day event whereby there will be beer, and people who brew and like beer playing a few tunes for you to sip along to. The event is free entry, however, if you are able to we are asking for donations to Dove House Hospice in memory of Jacko. There are donation boxes in both venues, or you can donate online in Jacko’s name.

What’s happening?
It all starts at 3PM at Newland Tap (135 Newland Avenue – just around the corner and up a bit) where there will be a selection of real and craft ales on, bringing your dog is emphatically encouraged. From around 7PM (which means 8PM Adelphi time), there’s going to be even more ale and beer available, and then Mouse’s Ear and Buckfast Tramp are going to make some noises to grit your teeth to. We’ll be offering discounts on all Half Moon and Turning Point beverages. Try them all and you might win a rubber duck or something?

Half Moon Brewery
An independent, family-run microbrewery established in 2013. From our brewery based in the original Blacksmiths Forge in Ellerton, near York, we produce a range of award-winning beers with a focus on quality cask ale. Available in pubs and venues throughout Yorkshire and beyond. Read more here.

Turning Point Brew Co.
The brewery launched into orbit in 2017, with Aron & Cameron calling time on their day jobs and never looking back. Since then we’ve been busy brewing as many unique beers as possible, whilst modestly honing our craft, learning everything we can about this mysterious liquid, and trying our damnedest to cram as much fun into every minute of it as possible. In 2019, we moved our brewery to Knaresborough, after two (and a bit) years at our original site in Kirkbymoorside. Read more here.

Mouse’s Ear
Rock trio based in Yorkshire. Two brewers and a vet walk into a bar… what more do you need to know?

Buckfast Tramp
HU5’s home grown idiots who turn nice traditional folk songs into punk-esque nightmares and pay homage to the gods of the folk-punk world. Definitely not a cult.

Work it out, win a beer.
