Described by some as “disturbing, fascinating”, and by themselves as “slacker-trad”, it’s plain to see that an evening with Milkweed will not be one spent in vain! This London-based experimental folk duo (voice, banjo & guitar) are visiting the Adelphi as part of their summer tour.

Their songs are summoned from the deepest rattlesnake pit of folk, reinvigorating the past’s worn tongue of tradition with the markers of modern sonic experimentation. None other than Britain’s best taste-maker The Quietus said: “There is a very real possibility that Milkweed are making the most interesting, most unsettling, most wonderful folk music around. Worth unearthing.”

Their last release, Folklore 1979 is a weird, wonderful and interesting take on folk, with banjo, guitar, vocals and cut and paste tape extracts when live.
