A night of insanely good music brought to you by some very lovely people.
Expect to hear music from…
JODIE LANGFORD
Jodie Langford is one of Hull’s best new artists to keep an eye on.
Exploding onto the scene in 2021 with her debut single I Miss It, she has gone from strength to strength honing her craft and delivering heart stopping performances on stage.
Armed with a ferocious voice paired with an incredible ability to turn observations of the world and her own personal experiences into relatable, thought provoking and often funny lyrical content that tackles everything from downing pints, dead-end jobs, and the government, to more abstract concepts.
Always by her side is her trusted producer/DJ, Endoflevelbaddie, who channels her raw unfiltered energy and carves a sound that darts between thrashing Post Punk sensibilities, fevered Techno rhythms and filthy Drum & Bass chaos.
“Langford has arrived, Elvis has left the building.” – Subba Cultcha.
“Fantastic experimental wonderfulness.” – Aron Smith, Shmu FM.
“That really subtle wordplay that’s not directly at you, I think is really clever… She’s got mad potential.” – Laurie Vincent, Soft Play.
ROTHCO
Born and raised in Hull, Rothco. consist of good mates from different musical backgrounds (Big River, Stuka, Black Ravines, Backroom Blues, Bunkerpop, Fire etc) intent on making unique, original music for the senses and providing audiences with electric performances. They may have only recently formed but with their collective years of musicianship they’re already drawing loyal crowds on the local scene.
MARX
Marx is a UK Hip-Hop artist who has been releasing a steady stream of singles, EPs and mixtapes over the past few years. A true student of the culture, the Hull native has carved out a niche on the scene by successfully distilling his passion for Hip-Hop into his own blend of Northern Rap. Marx’s music embraces the tongue-in-cheek attitude and self-deprecating style that have long played a part in rap’s history, all underpinned with an undeniable sincerity towards his craft.
Marx’s live performances have earned him support slots for a number of rap luminaries, including The Pharcyde, Ghostface Killah, Souls of Mischief, Grandmaster Flash and more, in addition to securing his first international performances in 2023.
