A gig in solidarity with THE DOROTHY PAX
Black Kes + Canadians In Space + More
Friday 21st March 2025
The New Adelphi Club
£5 Adv Tickets
Doors: 8.00pm
“We’re heartbroken over the closure of Sheffield’s The Dorothy Pax – a space that has given so much to the music scene and community. These closures cannot continue. The government needs to step up and introduce a £1 levy on stadium and arena gigs to protect our grassroots venues.
In support, ALL proceeds from our upcoming gig on the 21st at The New Adelphi Club will go directly to The Dorothy Pax, helping their staff and people through this tough time. Let’s come together, show solidarity, and keep the spirit of independent music alive.”
Black Kes
A progressive skiffle band from the city of culture 2017(Hull). Winners of the Casper Goldstien award for skiffle and folk music 2015. As seen on BBC 4.
Canadians In Space
“Do you remember the good old days, when a song with a dance routine was all the rage”?
Canadians In Space are from Barnsley, South Yorkshire and have never been to Canada.
They are a songwriting duo (trio when live) and perform mildly hilarious pop songs so colloquial or irrelevant that the comedic interjections are often unintentional but necessary.
Finalist at the Musical Comedy Awards & Winners of the Songs on the Key of Laugh, comedy song contest.
They journey through space and time (mostly time) rediscovering their imagined shared past in a village neither grew up in. They are considered pioneers in the Soap Popera genre, based on the fact they coined the phrase and, in turn, the genre. If you love music and comedy then you are guaranteed 50% satisfaction.
