Primal Scream played at The Adelphi Club in Hull on Friday 11th August 1989 and the experience left a lasting impression on Bobby and the band.

Stew Baxter, Life drummer and unofficial ambassador for Hull told us a story…

” I was with Bobby Gillespie in Paris on Wednesday, we appeared on ECHOES, a tv show with Primal Scream and IDLES. He was very quiet but when he spoke with me he said he played the Adelphi in 1989 and it was one of his most memorable gigs. And that his guitarist’s face lights up whenever he mentions that Adelphi show. ”
