The Whistling Heads released early September 2023 the ace debut album Dull Boy on Disasters by Choice, which you can listen here, then played more than 30 promotional dates in Italy, and are planning to cross any border in 2024, with Well…I Mean, due out on Feb 09th, being the first of a series of singles planned for the forthcoming months.
Those nights at Proud Camden sweating in fluo skinny jeans with The Rakes, These New Puritans, Arctic Monkeys, Gang of 4, The XTC, The Cribs, Bloc Party and so many more? Well, The Whistling Heads cannot remember it, cause they’re still in their teenage years, but they are doing it with the vitality of a generation sick of boredom and confinements, with gigs which are parties for both them and the audience.
Dancing about Architecture (UK) + The Big Takeover (USA)
“Well… I Mean” evades easy labelling. It’s the sweet spot where catchy pop hooks and infectious melodies intertwine with the swagger of indie and the driving force of rock, all delivered with a refreshingly raw edge. Cougar Microbes (UK)
“A band who knows exactly how to write a funky indie-rock tune.” It’s All Indie (UK)
“The Whistling Heads bring a bold, unapologetic sound that is bursting with energy and swagger.” Lost in the Manor (UK)
+ Rothco.
New Hull Super group featuring members of such bands as Bunkerpop, Black Ravines, Stuka, Big River Blues Band, BDM, Couture… the list goes on and on… playing their debut show… expect edgy, angular Swans-influenced post-punk/agit-pop.
