Tinfoils
TINFOILS are a three-piece garage punk band based in Manchester, whose frenetic brand of ‘no frills’, DIY guitar-driven music rages against the private security companies who police the streets of Britain, the royalist media machine, and youth debt – as well as having the odd song about thrush. Since taking to the stage in 2018 the band have headlined a number of sell-out hometown shows, as well as a string of gigs and festivals across the North of England and Scotland, with highlights including supporting bands such as The Blinders, SHEAFS, and The Mysterines, and checking off some of Manchester’s most prestigious live music venues.

The band’s latest single ‘Spitting’ – recorded with Gavin Monaghan at Magic Garden Studios, and released on their own label, Foilwrapped Records – has received support from the likes of Tom Robinson on BBC Radio 6 Music, and Radio X’s John Kennedy. Their originally planned 9-date UK tour to promote the single has had to be postponed due to the outbreak of the apocalypse. Manchester Evening News describes the band’s music as “sarcastic, satirical and extremely danceable.”
“TINFOILS deploy the kind of post-punk energy & attitude that’s incredibly hard to pull off convincingly, but from the sounds of it they barely break a sweat” – Tom Robinson, BBC Radio 6 Music
“Sarcastic, satirical and extremely danceable” – David Sue, M.E.N
“A breath of fresh air” – Wayne Carey, Louder Than War

“If you want to know the sensation of having a worn-out carpet yanked from under you (without injuries to the spine), check them out.” – Angus Rolland, Silent Radio

Bill Worry

A new Hull 5-piece who are playing their 1st Adelphi show…we welcome Bill Worry who take their cues from American 90’s alternative/college rock bands, shoegaze and pop. Think The Cranberries, Smashing Pumpkins and Slowdive all bundled up into a sports sock and sweated out onto the stage.

Jackson D
‘Jackson D is relentless in his style and that boutique sound. A truly original talent ‘ ‘A unique performer – Brimming with style – Refreshing!!!’

DIVIDE & CONQUER
‘Jackson D has emerged as a new and unique talent that is exactly what many music lovers who are tired of the same old recycled record company offerings and bands who seem to be making music because it’s their job and no longer their passion. Passion is something that Face is full of, and it’s a dammed welcomed change to a world of music… ‘ ‘Jackson D is taking the gloss and sheen of so much of the coolness of pop culture…A singer and songwriter who is a master of his craft’

“Out of adversity comes opportunity”…It’s great to welcome you back inside The Adelphi Club after being locked down for a year.

Every band or artists starts somewhere and more often than not, in this part of the world, it’s here at The Adelphi Club. We’re the first rung on the music ladder!

We’ve put together 21 gigs giving bands an opportunity to take to the Adelphi stage in front of a socially distanced audience. Small gigs to a small crowd, small victories! This should be fun!

We’re calling it The Victory Club. That’s what our club was originally called. Built in the 1880’s it was named The Victory Club in 1923, almost 100 years ago, as an Ex-Serviceman’s Club for WWI veterans. We hope you can join us to celebrate the New Wave of Hull musicians. Hear and There. Sounds from Everywhere!
