London-based alt-folk alchemist Seamus Fogarty released new album Ships to critical acclaim earlier this year. Since then, he has enjoyed widespread coverage across BBC 6Music (“Fantastic!” Guy Garvey) and recorded a live session for Gideon Coe & Marc Riley, while BBC Radio 3’s Elizabeth Alker lauded the album’s mix of electronica, German avant-garde and Irish folk inspiration, summing it up neatly “It’s robotic, and it’s got soul’’. Is it any wonder Cillian Murphy has proclaimed Seamus to be ‘one of my favourite artists around at the moment’?
Augmenting his performances with a range of analog synths and drum machines and a stellar cast of supporting musicians, including multi-instrumentalist Emma Smith (Pulp, Beth Gibbons) and drummer Aram Zarikian (Grass Cut, Peaky Blinders), his live shows are no less ambitious and have seen him traveling around the UK both in a headline capacity and as an opening act on sold out shows & tours for fellow artists Lisa O’Neill, Katherine Priddy and This is the Kit.
