Under the Influence presents…
RYDER THE EAGLE
plus guest Roy Molloy
+ Matt Edible
Sunday 12th October 2025
The New Adelphi Club Hull
DIY hero, fallen Romeo, karaoke weirdo — the Mexico-based French balladeer is everything (and nothing) you might expect from an art-rock divorcé chasing dreams at your local dive bar. With lo-fi synthy soundscapes, lyrical melodies, poetic songwriting, and cathartic one-of-a-kind performances, Ryder The Eagle tells his history with love more than his love stories – coating romantic despair with a chiseled wit that’ll transport you straight into a Kaurismäki movie soundtracked by a caffeine-driven Leonard Cohen.
ROY MOLLOY
Roy Molloy is best known as the enigmatic, long-standing business partner of Australian singer-songwriter Alex Cameron. With his debut solo project, Molloy steps into a new artistic space. His music combines krautrock instrumentals, dry wit and hard-wrought horn solos. Equal parts storytelling and mood-building, Molloy’s set represents a shift toward a more personal, expressive sound, marking a new chapter in his career as a performer and writer.
MATT EDIBLE
Matt Edible has been a jewel in the crown of Hull’s music scene for many years. From fronting cult avant-pop heroes Edible 5ft Smiths to The Holy Orders, to his latest project, Matt Edible & The Obtuse Angels. Matt’s solo shows are intimate affairs that range from goosebump-inducing pin drop moments to raging vocal acrobatics.
