Pregnant was founded in 2008 by Northern Californian father and renaissance man, Daniel Trudeau. His interest in multiple genres of music teamed with his overflowing imagination led him to initially create music on his own. The project has burgeoned into multiple styles of live performance from soloist soundscapes designed with loop pedals and DAW’s to multi-faceted and difficult to explain 5 piece contemporary band stylings. Trudeau has collaborated with many if not all of his contemporaries to create albums that were exhibited live thorough self booked tours overseas in Asia and Europe as well as in and around several parts of the United States. While there has never been any intentional aim towards a specific genre in Pregnant’s musical stylings it has settled at the bottom of the mining dish, mainly as psychedelic electronic pop music, and for lack of a better term.

Pregnant is the decade-long experimental venture of avant-garde electronic pop alchemist Daniel Trudeau. Spawning from Placerville, California, the band is fronted by Trudeau with added instruments and vocals by a rotating cast of friends. The dreamy, complicated sound is perfectly pieced from a tangling array of samplers, drum pads, effects pedals, MIDI-loops, guitars, and synths. Submerge Magazine explains, “As a live act, the trio become a kind of living sound exhibit…reproduced seemingly out of thin air, filling the corners of any living room, stage venue, or theater with music that’s as much visual as aural.”

+ Ichabod Wolf

Ichabod Wolf Ichabod Wolf is a Derbyshire-based singer-songwriter. He performs original songs about myth, mortality and unemployment in a distinctive baritone voice. HIs evocative lyricism, expressive wordplay and dark humour have earned him a reputation as a poets’ songwriter. He has spent the past decade establishing himself as the resident musician at poetry and literary events across the north of England.  His debut album, ‘Carry On, Crow’, was released on The Adult Teeth Recording Company label, in 2018, receiving praise and plays from BBC Radio 6 Music stalwarts, Radcliffe and Maconie, Shaun Keavney and Steve Lamacq, who chose the single ‘Painted Horses’ as one of his favourite tracks of 2019.  His new album, ‘Too True to be Good’, is a nine-track meditation on the creative process, the cruelty of the cosmos, and an exploration of the Arts’ power to act as salve and saviour in times of crisis, underscored with Ichabod’s inevitable black comedy and self-deprecation. It will be released by The Adult Teeth Recording Company on February 16th 2024.  “Truly an enigmatic voice worth hearing, it’s masterful. Romance cheek-by-jowl with ugly reality.” – Shaun Keavney, BBC 6 Music “An amazing thing, it quite stopped me in my tracks.” – Steve Lamacq, BBC 6 Music “Gorgeous. A bit Jacques Brel, a bit Jake Thackray.” – Stuart Maconie, BBC 6 Music “Sublime, literate guitar pop in the mould of Lloyd Cole and Edwin Collins.” – Tony Walsh, Poet “One of the most fantastic lyric writers I’ve ever encountered.” – Helen Mort, Poet
