Reverberations provides a spectral – almost operatic – performance from vocalist Leona Farrugia, with lyrics glitching within a swirling pool of instrumentation. Silent Empire are an unconventional outfit sporting a punk attitude and a grungy timbre. Carlos Pires’ atmospheric guitar soundscapes supporting Ellie Pollard’s powerhouse female vocal, with an intricate rhythm section from John Hopper and Martin Deane’s grooving baselines. Influenced by Radiohead, likened to The Pixies – reimagined with an angsty front woman reminiscent of Siouxsie and the Banshees or Amyl and the Sniffers.”.
