Frankie & The Heartstrings + Night Flowers + Carvell
You’ll be knocked out with 3 of the best this Friday.
Frankie & the Heartstrings start their tour at The Adelphi on Friday night and finish with 3 dates supporting The Charlatans in Nottingham, Cardiff & Norwich. Frankie Francis and the boys are in peak condition promoting their new album ‘DECENCY’ and are quite likely to floor you on Friday night with their energy and charisma.
“Frankie & the Heartstrings are a 5 piece from Sunderland in the Northeast of England. They’re a clever group of lads with what they’ve achieved so far alongside the lyrical content of their songs. It’s quite cool that they sing in their regional accent, and of course wear their heart on their sleeve when they perform which makes their live shows all the more interesting. Their sound is quite similar to that of the band Pulp, right down to the stage presence that they have, but of course it gets a little bit on the side of angst occasionally. If there’s one thing that this band knows how to do, it’s how to start a huge sing along with an audience, this one is either a group of Northeast natives or they brought down a busload of people. They are very proud of their roots, and Sunderland as a place, as they plug the record store that they opened in their hometown”.
Round 2. Fresh from a performance last night at Dr. Martens Spitalfields Market, London based Night Flowers play the Adelphi on Friday night.
“All those Sunday evenings spent religiously tuning into and hometaping the top 40 countdown from the wireless (sorry not sorry, music industry of the past) means that it’s a MASSIVE buzz to hear our music played on BBC Radio 1! We did a little dance around the room together. Big thanks to Huw Stephens for playing ‘Sleep’ last night – you can listen back here, around the 2hr 28mins mark, and don’t forget to order a copy below!”. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b06cw605
The band have just released their new single ‘Sleep’ out 25/9/15 on 7″ limited white vinyl and digital via Dirty Bingo Records!
The 5 piece consists of Zeb Budworth, Chris Hardy, Sam Lenthall, Sophia Pettit and Hull’s own featherweight Greg Ullyart.
The contender… Watch out for Carvell. This is an underground show for a new band who have just been picked up by a major label and agent. Wink wink!
A ridiculously generous line-up for £6. Doors 8.00pm.
