The New Adelphi Club
Greg Douglass with full band playing an evening of the music of Steve Miller Band ( plus possibly the odd choice cut of Gregs choice!). Greg started his musical career in the late 60s, His first band of note was Acid Country Rock band Country Weather who shared the bill with acts such as Spirit and Ten Years After. In this time he got to know Van Morrison and Jefferson Airplane and got to tour playing guitar with Van and with Hot Tuna..Later he founded Terry and the Pirates which led on to his joining the Steve Miller band in the 70s where he co wrote the hit ‘Jungle Love’.
He later was in a band with (Quicksilver Messenger Service’s) John Cipolina called Raven . he also has played with Greg Kihn, Big Brother and the Holding Company, members of Country Joe and the Fish and Electric Flag.
He loves the Adelphi in Hull and has previously played here with ‘The Former Members’ and ‘San Francisco Nights’ (with members of Country Joe and the Fish, Big Brother and the Holding Company and the Blues Project) This will be a great gig.
+ support from ‘ Hardy and Hetherington’ who are a brilliant duo who have both been in national and international touring bands . They describe themselves as ” Two good friends perched somewhere on Earth is a countryside folk and blues duo with two jumbo guitars they bring a pretty bend of playful melodies and sunny coastline harmonies. organic and intimate, spacious and tasteful is Hardy and Hetherington ”
