LIFE to support Kaiser Chiefs 3 Oct 2014

No Comments Uncategorized

“For 30 years the Adelphi has stayed true to an independent ethos. As a touring band we’ve seen how music venues around the country have become more and more corporate and it’s sucking the life out of live music. Adelphi is the polar opposite of a faceless, commercially branded venue; it’s unique and has the DNA of Hull running through its brickwork; an honest space for music. It will be an honour to be part of its 30th Birthday.”

Mez Green, Lead Singer

At the request of the Kaiser Chiefs (and all of us in Hull of course) we’re chuffed to be welcoming LIFE to the bill for Oct 3 gig as part of the #Adelphi30 celebrations.

These four boys from Hull are known for their Beat-yoof words and hooky punk riffs; with their cool-n-sweet lyrics atop driving grooves that build and break into delirious tunes. Singles, ‘Crawling’ and ‘Take Off With You,’ both released on Birthday Records this year have gained high praise with the latter being play-listed on XFM and Amazing Radio as well as both records being championed and played by Zane Lowe, Jen & Ally on Radio 1, Steve Lamacq on 6Music and Geoff Lloyd on Absolute.

The City of Culture four piece are quickly building a national profile and 2014 has seen an extensive live schedule including appearances at Live at Leeds, Liverpool Soundcity, The Great Escape, Kendal Calling, Boardmasters, Dot 2 Dot Festival, a sold out show at Birthdays, London and most recently a headlining slot at Hull’s Freedom Festival.

The band have recently featured on The Guardian’s Music blog and are set to record a bigger body of work in Autumn 2014; heading out on a full UK tour in November.
