Fonda 500 named as #Adelphi30 Sat 4 Oct headliner

Alan Raw and guest from the BBC Introducing Show; Humberside have announced the Saturday 4 October headliner; Fonda 500 (with special guest).

This is very rare opportunity to witness Hull favourites, the fantastic Fonda 500 performing a unique set of ‘thirty songs for thirty years’. Expect a few surprises including the auctioning of Simon’s famous hat, which isn’t a surprise now because we’ve just told you. Don’t miss out!! Fonda fans, Adelphi fans, come and celebrate with us. Village Records (The Adelphi’s Record Label) has unearthed limited copies of FONDA 500’s back catalogue from underneath Paul’s fishing gear.

 

Simon Stone, Fonda 500 commented: “Message begins>>>>…input code 01101984, we hear the sound of heavy automatique pulsar locks opening…we are aboard the E.Y.S.S (The East Yorkshire Space Station)…holding an orbit of 500 clicks above the Humber Estuary…the ships life support computer CAS.10 has been supporting the lives of the band called Fonda500 for some time now… each member of this unit has known this day would come…an awakening….a KA_KAAAA.. the date is Saturday October the 4th…the place is the New Adelphi Club…the reason is clear…they have been tasked with turning each of the years since Captain Jackson took the reigns of the club into a song…can they do it…you must attend to find out…you simply must…”

 

Described as “Hull’s favourite cosmic rock jesters” by Stephen Dalton at NME, Fonda 500, headed by Simon Stone are famed for their inventiveness in music with tracks, which include  ‘Super Chimpanzee’ and ‘Snowball’.

They will take to Adelphi stage to perform as part of a landmark week of celebrations which will see Adelphi30 hosting 7 live music events over 7 nights running from 29 Sept – 5 Oct at The New Adelphi Club, 89 De Grey Street, Newland Avenue, Hull. On October 1st 2014 The Adelphi Club in Hull will celebrate 30 years as a small underground live music venue.

Polly Sowden, one of the event organisers commented: “The full week has been programmed carefully and the outcome is very special. Saturday night will be a special one off show, expect surprises, expect the unexpected…”
