The Wave Pictures new album ‘Great Big Flamingo Burning Moon’ will be released on Moshi Moshi Records on February 16th, 2015. The first single from the album, “Pea Green Coat” is out now. To celebrate the release of Great Big Flamingo Burning Moon, The Wave Pictures will be touring the UK in February, and we are very pleased to welcome them back to The Adelphi.

The Wave pictures are David Tattersall (vocals and guitar), Franic Rozycki (bass guitar) and Jonny Helm (drums). Plus for one album only Billy Childish

The album was co-written and recorded with one of The Wave Pictures’ heroes, Billy Childish, using his guitars and amplifiers, and recorded in Rochester at the great Ranscombe Studios. The second single from the album, ‘I Could Hear The Telephone (3 Floors Above Me) will also be released on the 16th.

Check out the trio’s new video for the single which was made with Billy Childish.
Explaining the video, Tattersall says: “The Wave Pictures love a nice cup of tea before they rock out on stage. The pleasure the band take in a nice brew is perfectly captured in Oana Marian’s tour video. The song is a perfect expression of The Wave Pictures’ style, sounding as it does like The Go-Betweens with Rory Gallagher on lead guitar. The video shows what life on the road is like for one of today’s leading popular beat combos. No cats were harmed in the making of this video.”
