Fronteers + Audio Subscene + The Talkdown

FRONTEERS first home town headline show following huge success of their first two singles. They will be joined by friends AUDIO SUBSCENE + THE TALKDOWN.

HULL’S HOTTEST NEW EXPORT FRONTEERS WILL RELEASE ‘IDOL’ ON KING TUT’S RECORDINGS ON 11TH MARCH

‘Idol’ is the third release from Hull’s hottest new export; FRONTEERS. Released on 11th March, it receives its worldwide premiere from 6Music’s Steve Lamacq on Tuesday 26th January. Lamacq was a big supporter of previous single ‘It’s Up To Me Now’, which also received acclaim from Radio X’s John Kennedy and Radio One’s Huw Stephens. They closed 2015 supporting Blossoms and Pretty Vicious and will be joining the latter for an NME Awards Show at Dingwalls on 11th February – their first London date.

Produced by Cam Blackwood, ‘Idol’ is a reverb rock thumper with a deeper psychedelic feel. “It’s about when you’ve been over thinking something; sending yourself mad,” explains vocalist Andy Towse. “It’s that voice inside your head telling you to stop but you’re just not hearing it.” Listen on Soundcloud now;https://soundcloud.com/fronteers/fronteers-idol/s-uavTc

Andy and best friend James Taylor met at school and, upon discovering The Last Shadow Puppets in early 2014, decided to start an acoustic duo in their harmonic image. “The way they sang together made me and James wanna do that,” Andy says, “And we found we could harmonise naturally too, the songwriting just seemed to flow from there.” They enlisted bassist Ellis Keogh and drummer Lloyd Tuton and began to concentrate on gigging in the North of England.

With labels lining up to court them, 2016 looks set to be an exciting year for a band happy to carve their own unwavering path to new Fronteers. Boldly, go.
